Biography
Mike Holmes is a seasoned public servant, community leader, and mentor who has dedicated more than three decades to serving the people of The Bahamas. His career reflects steady, disciplined leadership, grounded in integrity, accountability, and deep respect for community and country.
He served for thirty-four years in the Public Service with the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development, where he supported critical administrative operations, and disaster preparedness. His work helped ensure continuity of government services, operational efficiency, and responsible management of public resources.
In addition, Mike has served as a Corporal in the Royal Bahamas Police Force Reserve, contributing to law enforcement, public safety, and emergency response. His experience in community policing, and national operations has strengthened his commitment to public safety and respect for the rule of law.
Mike also brings valuable experience in aviation security and operations, having worked in airport operations and is a trained private pilot. This background has provided him with a strong understanding of transportation safety, risk management, and national security.
Mike is an entrepreneur, mentor, and youth advocate. He has supported youth development initiatives in Cat Island, including scholarship programs and sports development. He has served in local government in various leadership roles. He currently chairs both the Free National Movement Cat Island Association and the Cat Island Sports Council.
Mike Holmes offers himself for service with a clear commitment to public safety, youth empowerment, and accountable governance—guided by the belief that strong communities are built through service, consistency, and respect for people.
