Biography
Carlton Bowleg is a man grounded in service, community, and personal growth. Whether through public life, business, or giving back to the next generation, he has always found ways to contribute.
Born and raised in Andros, Mr. Bowleg began his education at Mastic Point All Age School and continued at North Andros High. He later studied in the United States, earning a degree in Computer Programming and Accounting from Prospect Hall School of Business in Hollywood, Florida.
In 1996, he returned home and joined the Public Service as a Customs Officer. Over the next 20 years, he served with dedication on several islands, including Fresh Creek, San Andros, Nassau, and Bimini. He began his civil service career in Fresh Creek and ended it in Bimini, where he made the decision to step into frontline politics.
In 2017, Mr. Bowleg was elected as the Member of Parliament for North Andros and the Berry Islands. During his time in office, he also served as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources, with responsibility for BAMSI. Although he ran for re-election in 2021 and was not returned to office, he used that turning point as a launchpad for a new chapter.
Since 2021, Mr. Bowleg has shifted his focus to entrepreneurship. Drawing on his background in business and public service, he started several companies and continues to build his brand as a business owner.
A proud supporter of education, Mr. Bowleg has long been committed to helping young people. He’s provided school supplies and educational tools to students in his community and remains passionate about making a difference wherever he can.
Most of all, Mr. Bowleg is a devoted family man. He is married to Kara Bowleg, and together they are raising five children, four daughters and one son, who inspire everything he does.
