Biography
Rick Fox is a global entrepreneur, former professional athlete, global business executive, and public servant. He has spent more than three decades representing The Bahamas on the world stage.
Rick is best known publicly as a climate technologist founder and a three-time NBA Champion with the Los Angeles Lakers. He also has a distinguished career as a producer and actor in television and entertainment.
Throughout his professional life he has a record of building teams, raising capital, managing large projects, and crisis management. Rick’s service to The Bahamas predates his involvement in political life.
For over 30 years, Rick has sought to elevate The Bahamas through global representation in business, sports, culture, and entertainment.
As an ambassador-at-large, he represented The Bahamas internationally without a salary. Following Hurricane Dorian, he founded the Bahamas Relief Foundation, coordinating emergency relief and helping with the reconstruction of the Sherlin C. Bootle Secondary School in Abaco.
With climate change a major threat to the future of The Bahamas, Rick harnessed a combination of economic and climate leadership through Partanna, a climate-tech company. He believes The Bahamas can be a climate solutions leader, focused on green jobs and resilient infrastructure.
While he was playing in the NBA, he ran the Bahamas National Basketball Team for three years.
Committed to good governance, he is a founder of the Bahamas Future Movement, a civic platform promoting transparency, electoral integrity, and accountable and open governance.
Rick has always excelled as a team player. He grew up inside performance cultures where teams succeed together, preparation matters, and outcomes are achieved collectively for the greater good. He is devoted to helping The Bahamas to leverage its strategic advantages and strengths globally.
