Biography
Jamal Moss is a trade union leader community advocate and longtime national public servant whose record reflects more than two decades of leadership development youth empowerment and public representation. Born in Nassau and raised in both New Providence and Crooked Island he has built a life of service centered on opportunity accountability and national progress.
Jamal has been an active member of the Free National Movement and Torchbearers since 2000 rising through the ranks of youth leadership to become the longest serving National President of the Torchbearers Youth Association. He later served for ten years as National Vice Chairman of the Free National Movement and continues to play a central role in organizational development mentorship and national outreach.
His leadership extends beyond politics into labour advocacy and national representation. Jamal serves as Second Vice President of the National Congress of Trade Unions of The Bahamas and has held several leadership roles within the Bahamas Communication and Public Officers Union including shop steward chief shop steward and assistant treasurer. He is a graduate of the Barbados Labour College and has been recognized by the International Labour Organization for his advocacy on behalf of workers.
Jamal’s public service includes appointment to the Senate where he contributed to national debate legislation review and youth representation. During his tenure he visited schools throughout the country speaking with students and mentoring young men including those at the Simpson Penn Centre for Boys encouraging discipline education and personal responsibility.
He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Bahamas Development Bank and as a Commissioner on the Disabilities Board where he continues to advocate for social services accessibility and support for vulnerable Bahamians. His community work includes organizing job fairs that helped more than fifteen hundred Bahamians secure employment along with environmental clean ups back to school initiatives and community forums addressing family and social issues.
Jamal Moss holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Administration from the University of The Bahamas and remains committed to service faith and teamwork guided by the belief that leadership must always put people first and expand opportunity for every Bahamian.
