Biography
Debra Moxey-Rolle brings over 36 years of dedicated service and community involvement to her candidacy. A proud resident of Exuma, she has a deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people she calls neighbours. The daughter of the late Edmund Spencer Moxey and Sylvia Moxey, Debra’s life has been profoundly shaped by a legacy of public service and an unwavering commitment to empowering others.
A lifelong Member of the Free National Movement (FNM), Debra has demonstrated her leadership through various roles, including serving as the First President of the FNM Exuma Women’s Association and as Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary of the FNM Exuma Constituency Association. Her work within these roles has equipped her with the skills to listen, advocate, and deliver results for her community.
From 1999 to 2002, Debra was elected to the Exuma East Town Committee, where she served as Chair. This pivotal role allowed her to drive impactful change as a member of the Exuma District Council. Her commitment to Exuma is evident in her service on every Local Government Board over two decades, highlighting her long-standing dedication to grassroots governance.
Debra’s contributions go beyond politics. As Co-Founder of St. Andrews Anglican Primary School and a former Vestry Member of St. Andrews Parish, she has prioritized education and community development. Her legacy of service extends across the islands, where she has worked as a Local Government Family Island Administrator. Notably, she directed the Ragged Island Council in constructing a new terminal in 2021 and played a key role in Mayaguana’s history by facilitating its first-ever cruise ship visit.
A graduate of the Government High School and holder of an associate degree from The Bahamas Institute of Bankers, Debra is not only a community leader but also a professional with financial acumen. She is a licensed Member of the Bahamas Real Estate Association and is currently employed as a Financial Administrator in the private sector.
Debra is a devoted mother to her two daughters, Edahlia and Azaria Rolle, and a proud grandmother to D’Andre Reid. Her faith is at the core of her life, and she is an active member of the Evangelism Team at Bahamas Harvest Church. She believes in the Almighty God as the Author and Finisher of her faith, striving to join Him at work every day.
