Biography
Arinthia S. Komolafe is a Bahamian attorney, financial services professional, and civic leader with over 20 years of experience across law, banking, public policy, and corporate governance. Known for her thoughtful leadership and commitment to national development, Arinthia combines professional excellence with a genuine passion for people and progress.
Born in New Providence to Bradley and Jenniffer Braynen, Arinthia is the second of five children with family roots in Exuma, Andros, and Eleuthera. She grew up in the Bain and Grant’s Town community and attended St. John’s Native Baptist Church Preschool, Willard Patton Primary, and C.R. Walker Secondary. She began her studies in Accounting and Finance at the College of The Bahamas and later at the American Intercontinental University in London. Arinthia earned her Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Buckingham and completed her postgraduate legal studies at BPP Law School in London. She was called to the Bar of England & Wales and The Bahamas Bar in 2003, and is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
Arinthia holds an MBA from Bangor University and is a Chartered Banker. She is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), and holds certifications in crypto finance and investigation. Her career includes legal practice at E.P. Toothe & Associates and senior roles at multinational financial institutions both in The Bahamas and Switzerland prior to establishing her own law firm over a decade ago. She was the first female Managing Director of the Bahamas Development Bank, where she led major restructuring efforts. She has also served as a Consultant at the Ministry of Finance and held key positions with the Securities Commission of The Bahamas.
Beyond her career, Arinthia co-founded the Komolafe Foundation to support Bahamian youth in academics, sports, and the arts. She served as a columnist with The Nassau Guardian for five years and continues to contribute to public discourse. In 2018, she was selected to participate in the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
Arinthia is married to Emmanuel Komolafe. They are raising three children—Morgan, Alexandria, and Joshua—and a dog named Onyx. She is a member of the vestry and legal advisor at St. Mary’s the Virgin Anglican Church. Through every chapter of her life, Arinthia remains grounded, purpose-driven, and committed to building a better Bahamas.
